Blogger Recognition Award - Pet Edition 2017

I received the sweetest surprise this week! I was nominated by Bridle & Bone for the Blogger Recognition Award - Pet Edition 2017, thank you so much! It's always amazing to be recognised by others and it really brightens up your day  ðŸ’–✨

The rules for accepting this award are as follows:
Thank the nominating blogger.
Respond to the nominating blogger with a link to this post on their blog.
Write a post about the award.
Share a story of how and why you started your blog.
Offer at least two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
Pass on the nomination to another 15 bloggers!

What is the Blogger Recognition Award?
The Blogger Recognition Award is awarded to bloggers by other bloggers who appreciate the hard work, dedication and amount of hours that we all put into working on each and every post, spending time on social media and creating content! I also want to highlight those bloggers who have been fantastic in supporting me and who inspire me.

Why did I start for Roosa's Horsey Life?
I created my blog in 2013 because I have such a passion and love for horses and I enjoyed writing, but had no creative outlet for it. I'd written lots of diaries and I have notebooks full of ideas from lessons and riding sessions but I also wanted to have photos that I'd be able to look back on, so I decided to create something that would be online. The start of this blog was also during my gap year and for the first time in a long time I was not at school and actually had time to spare! I started blogging highlight my horses' matchy outfits, sharing photos and my dressage training sessions. After I got more comfortable with blogging online and the thought of others reading what I wrote, I then wanted to share my opinions to other horse owners and riders around the world and this year I've blogged a lot more about positivity and self confidence.

What advice do you have for new bloggers?
Do not publish content for the sake of just publishing more content, instead of publish content when you are proud of it and won't mind looking back at it in 5 years time - I have some posts that I've had to delete because they were written so badly and had no point to them! Instead, create content that is really good and if that means you only publish one blog post a week then do that. I follow blogs that have good posts, not those that publish 💩 three times a week. Second it's called social media for a reason, so be social and connect with other bloggers and your readers. If you're an equestrian blogger, find other bloggers and communities of other equestrian bloggers. I'm part of Haynet and the Equestrian Bloggers group which are both amazing in their own ways! If you're struggling to find others, search #horsebloggers on twitter and you'll find lots of other equestrian bloggers.

In order to accept this award I need nominate 15 other bloggers that I think are also deserving of this award. If you love horses (which you probably do because you're reading this my blog) I'm nominating my top 15 horse related blogs for the Blogger Recognition Award.  I chose these blogs for their blog posts & great attitude and these are blogs I truly enjoy reading and think you will too!
If you want to find more fantastic blogs, read on ⬇️ So my nominees are...

Gee Gee and Me
Jess and I started blogging about the same time and after getting to know her through Haynet, we eventually managed to meet up a few times in real life and I consider her one of my best blogging buddies! I am also totally in love with her pony Oscar who is a mini me of my Basse. Her positivity and love for horses shows through her blog and I know I can truly trust an equestrian product if she has reviewed it on her blog.

Team Tunnah Eventing
Sophie from Team Tunnah Eventing won the Haynet Blogger of the Year Award in 2016 and she is a total inspiration to us all. She also created the Equestrian Bloggers group on Facebook to help all of us bloggers and has a bloggers corner on her blog which has all kinds of useful stuff. Also I love following what she gets up to with her horse!

Brooksby Dressage
Brooksby Dressage used to train me for over a year when I was at university in Nottingham and she still remains one of my closest friends to this day. Her Facebook page is full of good tips for dressage training and lots of photos of matchy matchy! A perfect combination for anyone like me.

Fly On Over Equestrian
Tracy was another one of the original equestrian blogs that I followed when I first started blogging. She's very inspirational for me as she's a horse owner and adult amateur trying to find success in the hunter/jumper show ring with her adorable horse Miles!

One of my favourite people, I feel like I've been following her forever. She's SUCH a good blogger and totally deserves to be recognised and get a Blogger Recognition Award.

Austen has the most adorable horse Pig, who I adore! I love this blog because even though Pig maybe an older horse, he is still amazing and gives me hope that Vallu and Basse can still be in work even when they are older.

Nicola Baur Dressage
Nicola is one of the most popular dressage riders on Instagram (92k followers!) and for good reason too. I love her equestrian fashion and style as well as her promotion of the happy athlete. She may not blog as often I'd like, but she is very active on Instagram and I love following her.

Sophie Callahan Photography
Not only is she one of my favourite equestrian photographers, she's also a damn good blogger and vlogger! I adore her Facebook account where she documents the stories of horses and their owners,

My most recent favourite blog, I've been doing Allie's blog hops all summer and I adore her blog, total blog goals! She has also written one of my all time favourite blog posts: "Pitiful or powerful?". Anyone who writes about mental health and positivity AND is also an equestrian blogger totally deserves a Blogger Recognition Award!

These guys are just SO passionate about equine welfare and grass roots riding that you can't not love them! Their 10 minutes in the tackroom on their blog is one of my favourite features to read and their presence and activity twitter is an example to us all.

I only found The Sand Arena Ballerina once we were both in the Equestrian Bloggers group, but I love the blog. Another dressage rider, yay! She covers dressage, equestrian blogging and fashion as well as nutrition and rider fitness.

Carolina has run Equestrian Trend since 2013 and you're always guaranteed to find fantastic blog posts from her with the latest equestrian style and fashion news for both you and your horse.

Inside Track Eventing
I found Inside Track Eventing from HorseHealth as she's an official blogger for them and I really enjoy reading what she gets up with her horse. She also has an awesome #FollowFriday feature where she showcases different bloggers which I think is great!

This is another of my original favourite blogs that I have been following for years! You can't help but fall in love with this Haflinger and his owner Tanja who has written some amazing dressage blog posts over the years who I find myself agreeing with all the time.

Diary Of A Wimpy Eventer
I only recently found this blog and I think she is fantastic. She does SO much to help riders feel more confident about themselves. I laugh and cry when I read her blog posts and the way Victoria writes means that you can just feel as though you are there with her going through what she is feeling. One of my best finds in 2017!

Please go check these blogs out, they are all fantastic 💕
